MVIRDC World Trade Center Mumbai served as one of the participating centres for the nationwide launch of the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’, an initiative of MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. WTC Mumbai hosted students, youth volunteers and members of the community for the live virtual address by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Addressing youth across the nation, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said, “The ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ is not merely a campaign for individuals; it is a movement for families, society and above all for the nation. Building a drug-free India is a collective responsibility, and educational institutions, youth organisations, civil society groups, industry bodies, NGOs and spiritual organisations must work together to make this national mission a success.”
Highlighting the connection between a healthy younger generation and the vision of a developed India, the Hon’ble Prime Minister said, “As India moves towards becoming a Viksit Bharat, it is essential that our youth remain healthy in body and mind, confident and completely free from substance abuse. What began as a pilot initiative in Kashi has now grown into a nationwide people’s movement, and sustained public participation will be crucial to achieving the goal of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.”
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, said, “A developed nation can only be built when its citizens are healthy. Healthy individuals create a healthy society, and a healthy society forms the foundation of a prosperous and developed country. Referring to the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of Viksit Bharat, he said that the Prime Minister has envisioned all 140 crore Indians as active partners in the nation's development. He emphasised that empowering the youth and ensuring their physical and mental well-being are essential to building a healthy society, achieving the goal of a drug-free India and realising the vision of Viksit Bharat.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, World Trade Center Mumbai and President, All India Association of Industries said “World Trade Center Mumbai is honoured to be one of the centres participating in this historic nationwide campaign. As an institution committed to empowering youth through education, entrepreneurship and skill development, we believe that a healthy, disciplined and responsible young generation is the foundation of a Viksit Bharat. Through our continued engagement we will actively support this campaign and encourage young people to become ambassadors of a drug-free India.”
Ms. Priya Pansare, Director, Trade, Investment and International Relations, World Trade Center Mumbai, said, “We are honoured to have hosted one of the nationwide centres for the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan. World Trade Center Mumbai remains committed to supporting such transformative national initiatives and will continue to actively contribute towards empowering youth and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through meaningful partnerships and community engagement.”
The launch also marked the beginning of a 100-week nationwide Jan Bhagidari campaign against substance abuse. As part of the campaign, activities such as sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programmes, awareness drives, discussion forums, art competitions and community engagement programmes will be organised every Sunday across the country.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various educational institutions, youth volunteers and members of the WTC Mumbai community, who collectively reaffirmed their commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and spreading awareness against substance abuse.
The programme brought together students, young professionals, educators, volunteers and members of the WTC Mumbai community, who joined the nationwide initiative and collectively took the pledge to contribute towards building a drug-free India. Through its active engagement, WTC Mumbai continues to promote youth participation in national development and meaningful community-based initiative.
