MVIRDC World Trade Center Mumbai completes more than five decades of service to trade and industry. This is the time to reflect our glorious past and draw a roadmap for our future course of action. As you are aware, sustainable development is set to be the future model of economic development and hence sustainability should be the guiding principle of the activities of the Centre in future.

WTC Mumbai also continues to contribute towards enhancing exports, encouraging effective public-private and civil society partnerships and strengthening North-South, South-South and triangular regional and international cooperation. The Centre has organised interactive meetings with diplomatic missions as part of WTC Mumbai's export development initiatives.

Further, I am delighted to inform you that MVIRDC WTC Mumbai is setting up the 'M. Visvesvaraya Center of Excellence' to offer Skill Development and Business Acceleration services to MSMEs, Start-ups and women entrepreneurs. It will also impart vocational skills to specially- abled people (People with Disabilities) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) of the society. By empowering these sections of the society and bringing them into the formal economic activity, we can contribute to the overall economic and inclusive growth. We have already registered ourselves with the National Skill Development Corporation to carry out this initiative.

M. Visvesvaraya Center of Excellence is a pioneering initiative of MVIRDC WTC Mumbai on the occasion of completion of more than five decades of service to trade and industry. The M. Visvesvaraya Center of Excellence will also be a befitting tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir Dr. M. Visvesvaraya.

World Trade Center Bhubaneswar (Odisha), World Trade Center (Goa) and World Trade Center Jaipur (Rajasthan) promoted by MVIRDC organized programmes which immensely benefitted businesses and trade, enabling them to connect with international markets.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligations have been complied with and MVIRDC shall continue in its endeavour towards CSR activities. The Centre has financially supported Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai for vaccinating more than 16,500 people in the city. Further, the Centre supported Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) in opening one of the largest COVID vaccination centers in the city in our premises. The Centre also distributed food grains to underprivileged and economically weaker sections of the society during COVID pandemic, besides providing raincoats to constables and laptops to police officials.
